The next two weeks will see a team
of 15 King’s students placing calls to almost 2000 Non Resident Members as part
of our annual Telephone Fundraising Campaign. This year, for the first time, we
will also be making calls to many Friends of King’s College, Chapel and Choir.
The Telephone Fundraising Campaign is a great opportunity for Members and
Friends to hear about upcoming events and discuss their experiences at King’s,
and the callers will be discussing the College’s Annual Fund and the various
ways that they can lend their support.
In previous years we haave had a
fantastic response from members, who have enjoyed the chance to chat to current
students and hear about what it’s like to study at King’s today. Members have
also been extremely generous in contributing to the various funds at King’s, and
their support has been invaluable to the College. This year we aim to raise
£175,000, which will go towards student bursaries and studentships, the Library,
the Chapel and Choir, upkeep of facilities, and the Supplementary Exhibition
Fund, which provides for students in times of hardship.
More information on the Annual
Fund can be found on the King’s Members and King’s Friends websites. We will
shortly be adding a feature on the student callers and the campaign to each
website, with caller biographies, photos and updates throughout the duration of
the campaign, so check back soon!
