On Wednesday December 2 Cambridge in America rang the closing bell of the NASDAQ stock exchange to celebrate the 800th Anniversary Year of the University.

During the hour surrounding the event, a video display of iconic Cambridge images, including those below of King's, were projected onto a huge display system on the Thomson Reuters building, on the west side of the Square, and onto the cylindrical façade of the NASDAQ building, on the east side.

Present at the occasion, and in addition to the general onlookers, were representatives from Cambridge in America, alumni of the University, visitors from Cambridge and, of course, "Octo," the 8-foot stylized rendition of the number 800 that Cambridge used as a mascot.
